OXFORD, Ala. -
Jacksonville State defeated SIUE, 5-4, to win its sixth OVC Softball Championship title. The Gamecocks earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Softball Championship. 
SIUE took the early lead with four runs in the top of the first. Jacksonville State would use the long ball to come from behind to earn the win. 

JSU's Alexus Jimmeson, Jamie McGuire and Stephanie Lewis each hit home runs. Jimmerson finished the game going 2-for-4 while Lewis also had a pair of hits. Whitney Gillespie went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Gillespie also pitched two innings in the circle recording a strike out to earn the save. Taylor West picked up the win, tossing 5.0 innings and striking out one. 

Sarah Lopesilvero led the Cougars going 2-for-3. Kalei Kaneshiro drove in a pair of runs. Haley Chambers-Book was tagged with the loss.

SIUE defeated UT Martin, 7-1, to advance to the championship game of the 2017 OVC Softball Tournament. The Cougars face top-seeded Jacksonville State at 12:30 p.m. CT. 

Haley Chambers-Book picked up her 27th win as she didn't give up a hit and struck out four. Alyssa Heren led the Cougars going 3-for-4, including hitting a three-run home run. 

UT Martin's Lauren Myers drove in the lone run for the Skyhawks. Brooke Kennedy was tagged with the loss.
