PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Hannah Clark, SS, So., 5-10, Lakewood, Calif. - Eastern Kentucky
Clark hit four home runs and drove in 13 runs in six games last week. She posted a 1.167 slugging percentage. She hit two home runs against No. 22 Ole miss, finishing 3-for-3 with two runs and four RBI. She also hit a home run and drove in three against Bowling Green. Clark capped the week with another home run and five RBI against Oklahoma State.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Emily Ingles, RHP, Fr., 5-2, Scottsdale, Ariz. - SIUE
Ingles went 4-0 with a 0.62 ERA and 35 strikeouts as SIUE went 8-0 last week. She pitched the first four innings of a five-inning no-hitter against LaSalle. She tossed a four-high shutout in the win over Fort Wayne. She recorded a 7 to 1 walk to strikeout ration for the week. Ingles notched double-digit strikeouts twice with 11 against Holy Cross and 11 against Fort Wayne. She allowed 12 hits in 22.2 innings pitched. She lowered her season ERA to 2.02.

2017 OVC Softball Team Notes
 
AUSTIN PEAY (8-11 overall, 0-0 OVC): Austin Peay went 1-4 last week. The Governors fell to Campbell before going 1-3 at the Racer Classic last week, defeating Northern Illinois and falling to Murray State, Saint Louis and NIU. Sophomore Danielle Libermann extended her hitting streak to 14 games, tying for the longest hitting streak by a Gov since the 2000 season. She has also reached base in 17 straight games which is the longest streak since 2000. Sophomore Kendall Vedder recorded eight hits, including two home runs and one double. She also drove in six. Senior Christiana Gable pitched in all five games last week, including picking up the lone APSU win by coming in and throwing four no-hit innings of relief versus Northern Illinois. Austin Peay will travel to Middle Tennessee on Tuesday before playing a three-game series at Lipscomb this weekend.
 
BELMONT (18-5 overall, 0-0 OVC): Belmont dropped a doubleheader with Kennesaw State before going  4-1 at the Leon Smith Classic. The Bruins are one win away from tying last year's NCAA era best win total. Senior Kayla Wells led the team at the plate last week with a .444 batting average. She had eight hits with three doubles and five RBI. Freshman pitcher Brooklin Lee went 2-1 in the circle last week. She struck out seven in Belmont's extra inning win over Loyola. For the week, she fanned 14 batters in 17.0 innings of work. Belmont will travel to the Mercer Bear Classic this weekend.
 
EASTERN ILLINOIS (11-11 overall, 0-0 OVC):  Eastern Illinois defeated Alabama A&M before falling to Loyola, Valparaiso and Samford at the Leon Smith Classic last week. Senior Amber Toenyes went 5-for-11 at the plate with three runs, two doubles, one home run and three RBI. She led the team with a .909 slugging percentage for the week. The Panthers will travel to the Mercer Bear Classic this weekend.
 
EASTERN KENTUCKY (7-14 overall, 0-0 OVC): Eastern Kentucky dropped a single game to Miami (Ohio) before going 1-4 at the Ole Miss Classic. The Colonels defeated Jackson State and fell to Oklahoma State twice, No. 22 Ole Miss and Bowling Green. Sophomore Hannah Clark hit four home runs and drove in 13 runs over the six games. She hit two home runs versus No. 22 Ole miss, finishing 3-for-3 with four RBI. She also hit a home run and drove in three against Bowling Green. In the final game against Oklahoma State, she hit a home run and drove in five. Krislyn Campos hit .524 for the week while Rachel Minogue posted a .500 average with six runs and four RBI. Eastern Kentucky will travel to Alcorn State for a doubleheader on Tuesday before playing in the Memphis Tiger Classic
 
JACKSONVILLE STATE (14-7 overall, 0-0 OVC): Jacksonville State went 4-1 at the Leon Smith Classic last week. Sophomore Anna Chisolm hit .643 with a .992 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage. She had multiple hits in each game, including going 4-for-4 versus Alabama A&M. For the week, she had nine hits, seven runs, one double, one home run and eight RBI. Senior Taylor West picked up a pair of wins in the circle, allowing just one earned run over 11.0 innings of work. She struck out 14, including six in the shutout of Alabama A&M. Jacksonville State will host Winthrop for a doubleheader on Tuesday and Western Kentucky for a twinbill on Friday before traveling to Kennesaw State for two on Saturday.
 
MOREHEAD STATE (11-7 overall, 0-0 OVC):  Morehead State swept a doubleheader with Radford last week. Senior Robyn Leighton hit .500 over the two games with four runs, two home runs and three RBI. Junior Chelsea McManaway picked up the win in the first game versus Radford, allowing for hits and two unearned runs. She struck out 12 and walked just two. Morehead State will host Dayton for two on Wednesday before hosting Akron and Oakland this weekend.
 
MURRAY STATE (20-4 overall, 0-0 OVC): Murray State went 5-0 at its own Racer Classic last week. The Racers have now won their last nine games. Senior Jessica Twaddle went 9-for-13 over the five games. She had four runs, five doubles and three RBI. She posted a 1.077 slugging percentage over the five games and her three walks gave her an on-base percentage of .750. Senior pitcher Mason Robinson went 3-0 with one shutout over three complete games. She allowed just two earned runs in 20.0 innings of action while striking out 16. Murray State will host Western Illinois for a doubleheader on Wednesday before traveling to the Cal State Northridge Matador Classic this weekend.
 
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (13-5 overall, 0-0 OVC): Southeast Missouri hosted the Leon Smith Classic in Oxford, Ala., last weekend in which it went 3-1. The Redhawks defeated Loyola, Alabama A&M and Alabama State and fell to Valparaiso. Southeast Missouri is just three wins away from reaching its win total from last season. Junior pitcher Madeline Krumery went 2-0 with a 0.57 earned run average. She tossed 5.1 scoreless innings in the combined shutout of Loyola. She struck out a season-high five batters in the complete game victory over Alabama A&M. The Redhawks will travel to the Rock Chalk Challenge this weekend.
 
SIUE (19-4 overall, 0-0 OVC): SIUE went 8-0 at the Under Armor Showcase last week, picking up two wins over South Dakota and defeating, Penn, LaSalle, Holy Cross, Providence, Fort Wayne and Saint Joseph's. Head coach Sandy Montgomery picked up her 1,000th career win with the victory over Holy Cross. She is the only NCAA Division I active coach to play softball and win all 1,000 games at her alma mater. The Cougars are currently on an eight-game winning streak. Senior Allison Smiley hit .500 over the eight games with five runs, one double and eight RBI. She drove in runs in five of the eight games last week. Smiley currently leads the team with 25 RBI. Freshman pitcher Emily Ingles went 4-0 with a 0.62 ERA last week with 35 strikeouts in 22.2 innings of work. She pitched the first four innings of a five-inning no hitter against LaSalle. She recorded double-digit strikeouts twice last week, fanning 11 in each game against Holy Cross and Fort Wayne. The Cougars will host the SIUE Tournament this weekend. 
 
TENNESSEE STATE (7-15 overall, 0-0 OVC): Tennessee State went 3-2 at the Leon Smith Classic last week. The Tigers defeated Alabama A&M, Loyola and Samford while falling to Missouri State and Valparaiso. Freshman Selena Crafton drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth against Samford. She finished the week with 10 hits, three runs and five RBI. Sophomore pitcher Lauren Powell went 3-0 with a 0.47 ERA last week. She tossed seven scoreless extra innings. She struck out 12 and walked just two in 15.0 innings of work. Courtney Gearlds moved into the fourth spot on the TSU career hit host with four hits during the classic, giving her 144 for her career. She was also hit for the 34th time in her career to move her into a tie for first place on the school's list. TSU will travel to Northern Kentucky for a doubleheader on Wednesday.
 
TENNESSEE TECH (7-15 overall, 0-0 OVC): Tennessee Tech went 3-0 at the Owl Challenge last week, defeating East Tennessee State twice and Michigan State once. The win over the Spartans marked the first victory over a Big Ten school since 2007. Senior Alyssa Richards recorded five hits, three runs, one double, two home runs and seven RBI over the three games. In the win over MSU, she went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Sophomore pitcher Leigh Ellen Thomas earned both wins over ETSU, coming on in relief in the first game and going to the distance in the second contest. She allowed just two earned runs and struck out four over 9.1 innings of work. The Golden Eagles will travel to East Tennessee State on Saturday for a doubleheader.
 
UT MARTIN (17-6 overall, 0-0 OVC): UT Martin went 2-3 last week with wins over Maryland and Iona while falling to UC Riverside twice and Weber State once. Senior Renate Meckl hit .529 with eight runs, one double, one triple, one home run and four RBI. She also recorded four stolen bases over the five games. Against Iona, Meckl went 4-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and three stolen bases. Head coach Donley Canary passed former Tennessee Tech coach Tory Acheson for fourth place on the OVC's all-time wins list with career victory No. 504 against Big Ten member Maryland. UT Martin will host the Skyhawk Hampton Inn Classic this weekend.
