MURRAY STATE 3, JACKSONVILLE STATE 1
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Third-seeded Murray State defeated No. 6 Jacksonville State in four sets (22-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-17) to advance to the semfinals of the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship.
The Racers had four player reach double-digits in kills with Rachel Holthaus the way with 16. Rachel Giustino recorded 15 kills to go with 10 digs for the double-double. Katirah Johnson had 12 kills while Courtney Radel recorded 10. Becca Fernandez registered a team-best 29 digs. Callie Anderton also had a double-double with 57 assist and 14 digs.
Allyson Zuhlke led Jacksonville State with 14 kills while Charis Ludtke had 12 kills. Madison Cooler added 10. Rachel Perucki notched a double-dobule with 24 assist and 11 digs. Kaylie Milton led the team with 16 digs.
EASTERN ILLINOIS 3, SIUE 1
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Seventh-seeded Eastern Illinois defeated No. 2 SIUE in four sets (25-27, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19) to advance to the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship. The Panthers will face No. 3 Murray State on Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Allie Hueston led the Panthers with 13 kills while Taylor smith nearly recorded a triple-double with nine kills, 16 assist sand 20 digs. Gina Furlin recorded a team-high 22 assist while Anne Hughes led the team with 21 digs.
SIUE was led by Taylor Joens with 14 kills while Ashley Witt had 11 and Jackie Scott had 11. Samantha Knight recorded a double-double with 31 assist and 12 digs. Katie Shashack led the team with 22 digs.
EASTERN KENTUCKY 3, BELMONT 2
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Eastern Kentucky defeated Belmont in five sets (25-18, 25-18, 17-25, 20-25, 16-14) to advance to the semifinals of the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship.
The Colonels' Cassie Knutson recorded a triple-double with 16 kills, 21 assists, 15 digs. Celina Sanks led the team with 17 kills to go with 10 digs. Maria Ferragonio notched a double-double with 28 assists and 12 digs. Chloe Rojas posted a team-high 24 digs.
Belmont's Arianna Person led all players with 21 kills to go with seven digs. Alexa Nichols had 14 kills while Maggie Mullins and Brie Lewis each had 11 kills. Jessica Vestal added 10 digs. Emma Price recorded a double-double with 56 assists and 18 digs. Ellie Ivancich lead all-players with 31 digs.
AUSTIN PEAY 3, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 0
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Top-seeded Austin Peay swept No. 8 Southeast Missouri 925-18, 25-19, 25-13) to advance to the semifinals of the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship. The Governors will face Eastern Kentucky in the semifinals on Friday.
Christina White led the Govs with 14 kills while Brooke Moore added 11 and Ashley Slay had 10. Allie O'Reilly recorded a team-high 18 digs. Kristen Stucker dished out 43 assists and helped Austin Peay hit .339 for the match.
Southeast Missouri's Krissa Gearring recorded a team-high seven kills to go with eight digs. Allie Henkelman led the team with 15 assist sand 12 digs.
