Fans attending the 2010 OVC Basketball Tournament should be aware of some construction around the Sommet Center.

In February work began on the new convention center (Music City Center) site which is directly south the Sommet Center. All parking lots presently owned by Metro within the boundaries of the site, will be permanently closed.

Fans are encourage to check out the site http://www.ParkItDowntown.com for information on parking in downtown Nashville.

Alternate parking lots that are recommended for use during Sommet Center events include:

** Main Library garage, located at Seventh Ave N. and Church St., ($4)
** Pinnacle at Symphony Place garage, located at Third Ave. S. and Demonbreun St., ($10)

Entrances to the Main Library garage are located on Sixth and Seventh Avenues between Church and Commerce Streets. The entrance to the Pinnacle at Symphony Place garage is on Third Avenue between Symphony Place and Demonbreun. For easy access to the Pinnacle at Symphony garage and many other downtown garages, take the Shelby Street exit next to LP Field, take Korean Veterans Boulevard to Second or Third Avenues South and turn right.

Check out the available parking options for the Sommet Center and continue to visit http://www.parkitdowntown.com/ for the latest information on parking options and street closures. Search for your downtown destination and affordable parking alternatives by using the interactive map of downtown.

The new Music City Center, located adjacent to the Sommet Center on the south side of Demonbreun, will more than double the downtown meeting and exhibit space available in the current convention center. The center is scheduled for completion in 2013.
