OVC Players of the Week -   Feb. 16

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Sarah Coppert, IF, Sr., Maple Park, Ill. - Eastern Illinois

Coppert hit a team-best .500 as Eastern Illinos captured the championship at the New Mexico State Classic last week. She earned all-tournament honors after recording eight hits in 16 at-bats, incuding a three-run homer against UTEP. She finished the tourney with five RBI and two stolen bases.

PITCHERS OF THE WEEK:

Amber May, So., Normal, Ill. - Eastern Illinois

Sophomore transfer Amber May made the most of her EIU debut by earning MVP honors and leading the Panthers to the New Mexico State Classic title. She went 4-0 over the weekend with a 1.17 earned run average. She struck out 24 batters in 23.0 innings of work. She walked just nine batters and held the opposition to a .205 batting average.
