The Ohio Valley Conference has delved into the social network phenomenon. The OVC has launched its official Twitter and Facebook pages. Both applications give fans of the league a unique opportunity to stay in touch with the Conference. The OVC most recently added a YouTube Channel to give fans access to video content.

Facebook users can become “fans” of the league while Twitter users can “follow” the Conference. Fans and followers of the OVC will be one of the first people to hear any updates, breaking news and scores from various Conference events and happenings.

Facebook is a place for people to share and stay connected with friends, family and coworkers. Users can upload photos as well as share links and videos.

Twitter is a site for people to connect with each other with short messages and updates. Users can send a message under 140 characters in length via mobile texting, instant message or the web. Followers can receive the updates through sms, mobile web, instant message, or from third party API projects.

According to facebook.com, Facebook has more than 200 million active users and more than 100 million users log on to the site at least once each day. In a recent ComScore report, Twitter reached the 10 million visitor mark in February.
