Male Golfer of the Week
Nick Newcomb • Sr. • Benton, Ky. • Murray State
Newcomb fired rounds of 71-69-74 to finish 2-under par and in sixth place at the Stetson/CFSC Invitational last week in Deland, Fla. He was four strokes behind the individual medalist and helped Murray State to a third place finish out of nine teams. Newcomb finished the Fall season with three top 10 finishes and his 72.7 stroke average ranks second among OVC golfers. It marks Newcomb's second OVC Golfer of the Week honor of the year (Oct. 7); overall Murray State has had four different golfers earn the honor this year.

Female Golfer of the Week
Lucia Fernandez • So. • Cordoba, Argentina. • Jacksonville State
Fernandez shot an even-par two round total of 144 to claim medalist honors at the Pinehurst Fall Classic, played at the famous Pinehurst No. 6 course on Monday and Tuesday. It was the first career tournament victory for the sophomore. In Monday's opening round, Fernandez had a career-low round of 70 (-2) before finishing with a round of 74 on Tuesday. The claimed the medalist honor by one shot over a golfer from Vanessa Koechli. It is Fernandez's second Golfer of the Week honor of the Fall, as she also won the award the first week of the season (Sept. 9). Through 10 rounds this fall, Fernandez is second in the OVC in stroke average (75.7).
