JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Amber DeLaney closed Jacksonville State's 2009 season with her sixth game-winning goal of the season to deliver a 1-0 overtime victory over Austin Peay on Friday at the JSU Soccer Field.

The Gamecocks wrapped up the season with two straight wins for the first time since 2001, concluding the season with an 8-10 record and a 2-6 mark in the OVC. Austin Peay finished the season 1-13-4 overall and 0-6-3 in conference play.

Junior Alex Rustad sent a pass down the middle to DeLaney, who beat the APSU defense to the ball and then sent the ball to left corner of the goal to end the game with 1:56 left in the extra period.

It was DeLaney's team-best eighth goal of the season, wrapping up her career with a JSU record eight career game-winning goals, including a JSU single season record six game-winning goal this season.

The Gamecocks edged the Lady Govs 11-10 in total shots and 7-4 in shots on goal. JSU outshot APSU 3-2 in overtime.

Ali Koenig recorded her fourth shutout of the season, recording four saves on the night. Carley Newman had six saves for Austin Peay.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1, SIU EDWARDSVILLE 0
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Bobbie Jo Schlick scored in the first overtime period Friday night as Southeast Missouri State defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 1-0 at Korte Stadium.

The loss for the women's soccer Cougars occurred on Senior Day as SIUE celebrated the final home game for Kelley Humphrey and Correen Roark.

The Cougars and the Redhawks, two future Ohio Valley Conference rivals, were dueling back and forth all night. Even the shots were equal going into the overtime period at 11-11.

On the winning goal at 92:20, SEMO's Mabel Velarde forwarded a pass to Schlick near the top of box. Schlick had an open shot and hit the back of the net from 10 yards away.

The Redhawks improved to 8-7-3 in their season finale.

Devon Thomas led the Cougar offense with five shots.

Kristen Starkey posted the shutout for the Redhawks, gathering six saves.

Stephanie Jung, of SIUE, recorded five saves in goal.
