Cunningham hit .636 (7-for-11) with four runs,
four doubles, two home runs and three RBI as Jacksonville State won two of three
games from Sun Belt favorite Middle Tennessee over the weekend. The preseason
All-American had multiple hits in every game, including six extra-base hits. He
had a career-best 1.545 slugging percentage and a .733 on-base percentage and
did not strike out. After being moved to the leadoff spot, Cunningham responded
by going 4-for-5 while his two-run home run in the fifth inning on Saturday gave
the Gamecocks a lead for good in the 8-5 victory. He now has a team-high
eight-game hitting streak.

Green allowed one
earned run in eight innings of work as UT Martin topped Indiana State 4-3 on
Saturday. The senior scattered eight hits and did not walk a batter while
striking out six in picking up the victory. Of his 102 pitches, 80 were strikes
(78%). Sycamore hitters hit just .212 for the game against Green as the righty
picked up his second win of the season.
