MOREHEAD, Ky. - Junior Jen Hoffman recorded a hat trick to lead fourth-seeded Tennessee Tech past No. 5 Eastern Illinois, 3-2, in the first game of the 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Soccer Tournament.

After a scoreless first half, Eastern Illinois junior Sarah Rusk got the Panthers on the board off an assist from senior Alexis Miller. EIU would go up 2-0 as junior Kaitlin Sullivan scored her scored her third goal of the season.

Hoffman got Tech on the board with an unassisted score in the 60th minute. She followed with her second goal of the game 11 minutes later off an assist from the 2009 Co-Freshman of the Year Kris Cambron. Hoffman completed the hat trick with her third goal in the second over time to give the Golden Eagles the win.

Eastern Illinois concluded the season with a 7-8-5 overall mark while going 3-3-2 in the OVC play. Tennessee Tech advanced to play top-seeded Morehead State in the semifinals on Friday at 5:00 p.m.  CT. The Golden Eagles and the Eagles played to a scoreless tie in the regular-season.

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Freshman Ashley Fraser scored in the 85th minute to lift third-seed Murray State past No. 6 Eastern Kentucky in the second game of the OVC Soccer Tournament. The Racers will play second-seeded UT Martin in the semifinals on Thursday.

Murray State junior Tara Isbell did not allow a goal while making eight saves on the night to earn the shutout.

Heather Bruce led the Eastern Kentucky offense with four shots while goalkeeper Stephanie Lynch allowed one goal and made four saves.

The Racers advanced to the semifinals and will face UT Martin at 8:00 p.m EST on Friday. The Skyhawks defeated the Racers, 2-0 in the regular-season
