The 2008 cross country season came to an end for Ohio Valley Conference teams on Saturday, as teams competed in three NCAA Regionals across the country.
No OVC team earned an automatic or at-large berth into the NCAA Championship which will be held next week.
The two finishing team was the Eastern Kentucky men, who were sixth in the Southeast Region. They were led by a 17th place finish from Joseph Maina. EKU might have finished higher had it not been for a bit of bad luck. The team was without Elkana Kurgat who was injured in the OVC Championship meet and junior Stanley Mugo was spiked at the beginning of the race, suffered a cut and lost a shoe. He still managed to finish the race with one shoe, placing 38th.
On the women's side, Tennessee Tech placed 19th at the South Regional, led by OVC Runner of the Year Stephanie Place who was 19th overall.
