Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky and Southeast Missouri women’s track and field teams were recognized by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for academic excellence. In addition, APSU’s Carrie Burggraff and Southeast Missouri's Lindsay Hearne was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team.
The Lady Govs as a team posted a 3.089 grade point average during the 2007-08 season while Eastern Kentucky earned a 3.007 GPA and Southeast Missouri boasted a 3.379 GPA.
The selection of the All-Academic Teams is based on a combination of academic and athletic achievements. To qualify, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 team cumulative grade-point average. 117 Division I women’s track and field programs were recognized as 2008 USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Teams.
