Relive the Excitment of the 2008 OVC Football Media Day

Note: Due to technical difficulties, one-on-one interviews with Eastern Kentucky's Donn Landholm and Southeast Missouri's Tony Samuel are currently unavailable. The problem will hopefully by fixed and the videos uploaded as soon as possible. One-on-one interviews with one student-athlete from each school will also hopefully be available soon.

The Ohio Valley Conference held its annual Football Media Day on Tuesday, July 22 at LP Field in Nashville. Media, coaches and administrators gathered to talk about the upcoming season and share thoughts on their teams.

In a vote of head coaches and sports information directors, Jacksonville State was tabbed the preseason favorite. They received six of the 18 first-place votes with Eastern Kentucky (picked second) and Eastern Illinois (picked third) also receiving six first-place votes in what was the closest vote in preseason OVC history.

Eastern Kentucky quarterback Allan Holland was picked as the Preseason OVC Offensive Player of the Year while Eastern Illinois defensive lineman Pierre Walters was picked the Preseason OVC Defensive Player of the Year.

Fans can watch the moderated question-and-answer session as well as one-on-one coach interviews through the links at the top of this page. The videos are free.

The season officially kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 28 when seven of the nine OVC teams will be in action.  The other two teams will open the season on Saturday, August 30.

The videos at the top of the page are good chance for fans to check out what is available at OVCSports.TV and the many features the service has to offer. Once again this season fans can watch nearly every Conference matchup and all non-conference home contests this season at OVCSports.TV. The venture with JumpTV Sports allows fans to access live and on-demand streaming video and audio of all conference matchups on their home computer.

The premium Web site was launched in July 2006 and has streamed nearly 1,000 events in its first two years, including all Conference matchups in football and men’s and women’s basketball as well as select baseball, soccer, softball and volleyball games and OVC Championship events.

Subscription packages are available on a yearly, seasonally, monthly or per-event basis.
